Truckee Thursdays is the heartbeat of summer in our town. Every Thursday evening from mid-June through the end of summer, the historic district closes to cars and the whole community spills into the street. Live music on the main stage, food trucks lined up end to end, a beer garden, a kids area, a farmers market, and artisan booths from people who actually live and make here.
It is the one night a week when you are guaranteed to run into someone you know. Locals plan their week around it. Visitors stumble into it and realize they found the real Truckee.
Come early so you can walk Commercial Row before the crowds, browse the shops, and grab dinner outside while the sun is still up. Then post up near the stage and let the evening roll. Both of our Truckee stores are right in the middle of all of it, so come say hi while you are down here.
A tip from us: ride your bike. Parking downtown on a Thursday is a battle, and Truckee Trails Foundation runs a free bike valet right at Donner Pass Road and Bridge Street. They are the same crew we partner with on our Bike Cards, so it is an easy way to support local trails and skip the parking headache at the same time.
